Audrey {23 Months}

We've had another busy month of expanding vocabulary and new tricks she's mastered.  I look at this little girl and think, "she isn't a baby anymore, she's a girl"!  We continue to watch in amazement the things she has learned to do, words she has picked up on, the advancement in her communication with us.  Her favorites remain much the same as last month with varying degrees day-to-day.  She's a wonderful blessing and even though we have hard days, we remind one another to focus on the good because there is so much to be thankful for.  And we are.  Truly and utterly thankful for the blessings God has bestowed upon us.

  • She sings, full songs now.  Among her top picks: Amazing Grace, Constantly Abiding, Jesus Loves Me, The Lord's Army {Sunday school song}, Happy Birthday, ABC's...it's so much fun to hear her sing!
  • Recognizing letters!  Doug taught her how to spell Ohio; he grew up an Ohio State fan, so naturally he would teach her a little something about that great state.  :-)
  • Counting!  She'll start at 4 or 5 and count all the way up to 10
  • She learned to give a "thumbs up" this past month; it seems to be a tricky finger manipulation, but she mastered it after a few practices.
  • Doug taught her to respond "All Day" when asked, "Who is your favorite {Vikings} player?"  She has since named her baby sister "All Day Baby".  haha
  • She is very attuned to when she has a stinky diaper and will tell me, "stinky" and want to be changed.  Still working on getting up the energy to full-time potty train.
  • We are getting out more, hanging around other kiddos and learning to share...I know it'll be awhile, but I hope she masters it and learns to be compassionate and kind toward her peers.
  • She has advanced from being in the nursery at church to going to Children's Church and Sunday School with the other 2 & 3 year olds; she loves it!
  • Audrey really has a heart for people; she loves babies, her family, her friends and her caretakers at church.
  • She loves, loves, loves going to church!
  • She will tell us, "hurry up, mommy/daddy!"  haha
  • When asked, "where is mommy's baby?" she'll pat or point to my stomach; she kisses, hugs and "tickles" baby.
Audrey, mommy and daddy love you to the moon and back and back again!  Happy 23 months, munchkin.  Just one more month until you're officially a TWO year old.  Eek!  We love you!

xoxo,
Momma
