The vision of Waite Park Church is the vision of the Kingdom. We believe at the heart of the Kingdom of God is Life - capital "L." So many people think that when someone finds "religion," they limit themselves and make their world smaller. But we believe Jesus when He says, "I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of." (John 10:10 MSG) Our vision is that we are a church full of people who find Life, share Life, and give Life.
Audrey was amazing (ahem, as usual) and when Pastor Kory took her she just looked at him very intently. While he was talking she was waving her little arms, kicking her legs, and "talking" up a storm. Ha ha. Have I mentioned where she gets that from? The kid has personality. :)
Afterward we went to Grandma and Grandpa Fisher's house (Doug's parents) and had a barbecue with our families. It was a beautiful day and Audrey was terrific (especially with not having a nap in 5 hours!). She crashed just as everyone was leaving and was asleep by 6:20 p.m. last night and slept until 7 a.m. this morning. As if that wasn't enough, she has been making up for it today as well with two long(er) naps. She was the life of the party and obviously did not want to miss anything! Check out the (cup)cake my sister got for the occasion; it was delicious (red velvet with butter cream frosting - yum!):
Audrey enjoyed playing with her cousins (she has 12 in all, but only 5 were able to make it). My youngest niece, Emily, is particularly fond of Audrey (Emily is almost 3). Here is a picture of the two besties:
And of course, you cannot get away without seeing pictures of Audrey with her daddy and one with me. :)
Finally, this is the verse that Doug and I have picked out for Audrey. It is our prayer that as she grows she rests in the truth that Jesus knew her before we even knew her and that she was perfectly (and purposefully) made to be exactly who she is.
Psalm 139:13-14 NIV
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful. I know that full well.

That sounds really lovely, Missy. This may be a dumb question, but what do you mean by dedication? I grew up Catholic, so am only familiar with baptisms. Is this a similar thing?
Thanks, Erin! It was a good day. Not a dumb question at all! =) In the Wesleyan tradition baptism happens when the individual is old enough to make the decision for themselves; instead children are dedicated. Basically it is the parents' public commitment to raise their child(ren)in a Christian home based on Jesus' teachings. Thanks for asking!
