We celebrated Audrey's birthday with our families tonight. I am still of the opinion that big birthday parties for little kids are overrated. They won't remember it anyway. Much like last year we invited Audrey's grandparents, aunts & uncles and cousins. One of my sisters, Sarah, her family, my parents, Doug's parents and my brother were able to make it. We had a full house despite missing my eldest sister's family and Doug's sister. Audrey was in heaven. She's such a social butterfly and loves being around people. We started out the evening with some pizza {one of Audrey's favorites}, then present opening. We ended the evening with singing "Happy Birthday" and chocolate cupcakes {complete with pink vanilla frosting}! Mmm Mmm. Opening presents was a bit of a trial...she'd get bored with having to "open" them, but once they were open she wanted to play with everything right away! She is one loved little girl and we couldn't be more grateful to our family for celebrating this special day with us.
Presents she received: a "piano" keyboard, puzzles, coloring/painting books, a Bible, a baby stroller, a cute puffy vest & shirt, a VeggieTales DVD and action figures. And it isn't even Christmas yet! {Note: 2 cupcakes may or may not be missing due to the need to "taste test" them - ha!}
